Z Zegna has been handpicked to be this year’s guest label at Pitti Uomo, the menswear trade show based in Florence, Italy. Befittingly, the label and its parent company, The Zegna Group, have roots in the Italian city.
Previous labels that have been tapped to show at Pitti Uomo include the likes of Carven, Valentino, Kenzo, Band of Outsiders, and Diesel Black Gold. Z Zegna is designed by Paul Surridge, who showed his first collection for the brand in 2012; he previously held gigs at Jil Sander and Burberry. “This young and innovative collection reinterprets formal wear by combining it with sporty materials and themes inspired by city lifestyles, and therefore, is very much in tune with the entire cutting-edge area of our fair,” said Pitti Immagine president Gaetano Marzotto said of Z Zegna in a press statement.
Z Zegna is an offshoot of the original Ermenegildo Zegna label and it accompanies Zegna Sport, Ermenegildo Zegna Couture, and Agnona under the Zegna Group umbrella. The trade show takes place at Fortezza de Basso in Florence from June 17th to June 20th, and Z Zegna will host an event of their own on June 19th, also in Florence.
