MR PORTER names Editor-in-Chief
MR PORTER has announced the appointment of John Brodie as Editor-in-Chief, effective mid-May. Brodie joins following an extensive career as an editor and journalist in the fashion, pop culture, finance and technology industries, having worked for titles including GQ, Best Life, Variety, SPY magazine, Fortune, and most recently as an Executive Editor at the Hachette Book Group. In his new role he will be based in New York and will divide his time between New York and London, and be responsible for building on MR PORTER’s editorial vision and developing its position as the principal men’s style destination talking to over 2 million men every month worldwide.
The Industry meets with Lulu Guinness
For The Industry’s latest meeting this month it celebrates 25 years of British handbag label Lulu Guinness – see events for details. The designer will be interviewed by journalist and Industry member, Hilary Alexander. The pair will discuss how Lulu’s playful designs have defied the ethereal nature of fashion, survived the demise of the ‘IT’ bag and surpassed their working purpose to become of the most collectable accessories on the market.
