Saint Laurent is Open

Saint Laurent swung open the doors to its Walton Street boutique  in the morning on December 5. What you are looking at above is a snapshot of the crazy, hall-of-mirrors like fitting rooms—the only interior image we’re allowed to show you for now. We will have more interior pictures in a couple of weeks, but for now you’ll just have to take our word on the visuals: this 2,000-square-foot store isn’t short on clean, marble-paved elegance.

Designed by the brand’s creative director Hedi Slimane, this is the first store in North America to have marble floors and a concrete ready-to-wear wall. The ceilings are 22-feet high, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors are also special to this location.

As for what’s in store, there’s a cross-section of categories including handbags, shoes, fine jewelry, and small leather goods. At the front of the space, a glass case holds the just-launched Letters Collection, which comprises leather accessories with raised Saint Laurent logos spelled out in metal letters. (Prices start at $195 for the card cases, and go up from there.) The goods come in primary hues and metallics, and some are made from caviar leather.
