Amid a large parade of soldiers and war vets, the semiannual Rebecca Minkoff sample sale kicked off at 260 Fifth Avenue this morning. The sale officially began at noon, and the line was already about eighty people deep by 11am. Naturally, the first thing you’ll want to do when you get in is hurry to one of the main tables of bags.
The first table has all of the minis for $125. You’ll find: Mini M.A.Cs, Quilted Mini Affairs, Mini 5 Zips, Sklyer Minis, M.A.B Mini Minis, and May May bags in all sorts of colors. If you’re looking for something larger, check the next table, which is where anything not miniature resides. This includes everything from the Quilted Leather Affair to M.A.C clutches for $200 a piece. The Sklyar crossbody is $175, and a ton of Jayden and Desire satchels are $250.
There’s a table dedicated to minaudieres and clutches for $150, and a section for shoes: boots are $200, heels are $150, and flats are $100. Wallets are $75, small pouches are $25, larger pouches are $45, and diaper bags for $200. There’s also a table filled with men’s bags (the Ben Minkoff line) for $200 a pop.
Everything on the sample table is $100, but be sure to analyze anything you pick up carefully—we did notice some scratches and stains. There are some really cute finds, though, like a black and white quilted clutch in decent condition.
Most shoppers are really focused on bags and accessories, but consider browsing through the racks of clothing that line the back wall. There are Becky jackets in every color, pattern, and texture. These start at $175 for a Becky in silk or brocade, $200 for leather ponte, and $300 for perforated leather. We saw the jackets in every size, and noticed more being taken out of boxes.
Aside from Beckys, there are a couple of the Theo leather moto jackets for $300, Jamison jackets for $200, cocktail dresses for $175, Aviation tops for $100, Haim blazers for $175, and sequin trousers for $125. Vests are $150, silk blouses are $100, silk tanks are $75, and cotton tops are $50.
