Prabal Gurung chose elegant women as inspirations, so it makes sense the models were displayed behind plastic curtains before they walked. Off-the-shoulder satin dresses nailed home the 1950s vibe, as did ladylike pastels in mint and pink. The latter contrasted with grass green bustiers and bright blue tweed, not to mention the clashing patterns and fluorescent lights throughout.
“It was a celebration of women,” he said, backstage after the show. “I was thinking about preserving elegance, but making it modern and right for now – and with the right amount of danger.”
